Temitope Okunlola brings over two decades of diverse experience in the telecommunications industry, demonstrating leadership in technical innovation, project management, and strategic planning across Africa and beyond. Starting his career at Odua Telecoms in 2004, he has since held key positions at industry-leading organizations, including Huawei Technologies, Alcatel-Lucent, and NEC Japan’s West Africa office, where he made significant contributions to network design, optimization, pre-sales, post-sales, and end-to-end transmission project management.
He has been a consultant in different capacities, one of which he successfully handled and managed the optimization of a national microwave radio transmission network for a major telecom operator in Africa, leveraging his expertise to enhance network performance and support strategic projects. His achievements include developing detailed departmental procedures, network cleanup, and engineering databases to streamline operations and improve network performance. He has also driven innovation in ICT and energy solutions while leading technical training programs to enhance team expertise.
At NEC West Africa, Temitope seamlessly combined pre-sales and post-sales responsibilities, managing complex backbone and access transmission projects across the region. His scope of work spanned international logistics, procurement, and technical proposal development, ensuring successful project delivery.
An alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, with a degree in Computer Science with an Economics option, Temitope is pursuing an MBA in Artificial Intelligence. He holds multiple certifications in project management, including PRINCE2 Practitioner, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), and Management of Portfolio (MoP), and he is currently advancing his expertise in data science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
